Oil selection is normally made to satisfy lubriion requirements of the most demanding machine elements. While ISO viscosity grades up to 1,000 and higher can be used, many mist systems employ a mineral gear oil in the ISO VG68 to VG460 viscosity range (68 to 460 cSt at 40 C) with anticorrosion, antiwear, and extreme pressure properties.
